Over four decades ago, even living in America was the farthest thing from my mind. I was living in East Germany during the height of the Cold War and just staring at the sea of lights sparkling from across the wall in West Berlin, tantalizingly close, yet unreachable.
Nowadays I am creating tailored buying and selling experiences for my clients.
In the mid-1970's we tried to escape to West Germany with falsified passports but were caught at the Bulgarian border. What followed was lengthy imprisonment, before they eventually released us to West Germany.
So, I know firsthand that real estate isn’t just where you live. It’s an emotional process - a step towards a new life, a chance to put down new roots and make new memories - exciting on the one hand and potentially fraught with uncertainty on the other.
I moved to Vero Beach in 1993 and immediately felt that it was unlike any other area I’ve been to in Florida before.
